My fiance and I are thinking about booking our honeymoon at the Riu Ocho Rios in Jamaica for the end of April. Has anyone been there or have suggestions/tips for us?

Jamaica offers a wide variety of pleasures, including outdoor adventures and hideaways such as YS Falls, Black River, the Blue Mountains, Hellshire Hills, Treasure Beach, and the safari of Ocho Rios.

The hotel is GREAT ! Its a huge place, and has a small "waterpark" too. Its only a few years old, and is a great deal for the money....you'll love it there...

Bad part is that its 10 minutes from downtown Ocho Rios ( Ochi ), so you'll be riding the shuttle bus or taking taxi's if you want to go into town. Your not close to anything right out the gate except horse back riding...Dunns River Falls is 5 minutes away, as is Dolphin Cove.

If you haven't already been to tripadvisor.com you should do so. It will show reviews from people who have recently visited there or, any other resorts you might be interested in. We always stay at Sandals in Negril and love it. Great scuba diving, watersports, food, drink, and staff. It's all-inclusive which is a great value. Anyway, try tripadvisor and your sure to find the perfect place for you. Happy Wedding.

When at the hotel or wherever; tip + when making conversation with the locals dont act as if you have alot of money or you are from a foreign country or you might get ripped off.

We also looked at this but a friend suggested The sunset at the palms as its smaller and more romantic, it was wonderful.check the website and ask for one of the newer cabins if you go.
