Travelers flying in to Montego Bay can get from the airport to their Ocho Rios destination via shuttle or taxi. Shuttle rides are the least expensive way to go, with taxi rides being approximately US$120. The shuttle ride between Montego Bay and Ocho Rios is approximately two hours long. Rental cars can also be obtained but are not highly recommended.

3 ways to do this :

At the airport there are tour buses...the stands are obvious. They charge about $25 for a "transfer" to Ochi, but you'll need to give them a name of a Hotel, they won't drop you at a residence.

You could take a route taxi from Mobay to Falmouth, another from Falmouth to Ochi...it'll cost about $5 for each taxi...but they are crowded & sometimes not safe.

Lastly & not recommended is a charter taxi...thats where you hire a driver in a car or van and your alone...but they charge $80-$100 for the ride which is crazy.

It could easily cost you ten thousand J$ to CHARTER a taxi. There will be no direct taxi from Mobay to Ochy unless you charter.

Be careful when doing so taxi drivers are robbing tourists too.

I travelled from St. Elizabeth to Kingston and paid $8,000.

in Jamaica, cabs are very careless on the road: they speed and overtake riskily....i see them allll the time on the road and they just piss me off......plus...Jamaican taxi drivers are the real con-artistes of the country...they will rip u off (especially if u dont kno the exchange rate)

If you are going to use a cab, please ask the JUTA dispatcher at the airport to assign a cab for you. This is the safest way to go.
