Couples in Ocho Rios was wonderful. It's an older hotel but remodeled recently. The food was good, the location (private beach), and the best was the piano bar.

Sunset Jamaica Grand is wonderful, but it's a family resort. The location is wonderful, it's in walking distance to downtown Ocho Rios. The landscape is wonderful, the food is good, and the entertainment is great. They have restaurants and a night club on the property.

My Opinion: I loved Couples Ocho Rios or Negril. Both cater to couples only, all-inclusive and beautiful. We still are in contact with a few people from the resort we met and who made our stay more than "irie". I actually was married on the resort...and people continued to tell me...had they know they could of did it there...they would of save the thousands of dollars they had to pay off. Plenty to do...private beach island, property is well kept and very nice. I was married 4-99 which was Easter which is BIG there due to carnival. So we ended up paying a little more. But we did not spend anything except liquor to bring back, and personal stuff we may have wanted. You will be pleased.

I've heard Sandals is a great place to stay, but pricey. My wife and I were married at Breezes Montego Bay and had a great time. Right on Gloucester Ave were you can do shopping and other things. You will be hounded by Jamaicans trying to sell you things but this is anywhere you are outside of the resort, can be annoying but they are just trying to make a living. If your nice to them they will be nice right back. Also there is a free shuttle that takes you to Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville, not a huge place but still very fun!!! Very nice beach and the water was crystal clear. My brother and his girlfriend stayed a a Wyndham Montego Bay and it was nice but the water was murky all week and there was nowhere to go outside of the resort without getting a cab. Make sure you visit Dunn's River Falls, an absolute must!!!! Look for A.J. a great cabby, will take you on a tour of the island. Have a great time!!

I went to Sandals Whitehouse which is the newest Sandals resort. I spent a lot of time researching all the Sandals resorts and finally chose Whitehouse. I loved all the sculptures and the pools looked amazing. I will tell you that the actual resort looks BETTER than in the photos. Everyone we encountered was very friendly. My husband LOVED the piano bar and the bartender, Delroy, was awesome. We snorkled, got a couples massage, a private dinner on the beach...they even sand happy birthday and brought out a cake for my hubby's b-day. The resturants were very good. Lots of yummy choices. We loved the Paris cafe! We had cappiccinos and crepes almost everyday! There were 3 large pools to chose from. We rotated throughtout the week depending on our mood. The husband LOVED the swim up bars. The beaches were clean. Whitehouse isn't near any other resorts so it's secluded and quiet, which was exactly what we were looking for. I guess I've blabbed long enough. We will definately go back to Sandals. Congrats!

I was looking at trips this morning for Jamaica, go to www.costco.com. If you are a member there you can get some great deals on travel. I was looking at the Couples Sans Souci and the Couples Negril. They are both all inclusive and I've heard they are great from friends.

First, decide what you want in a resort. All inclusive resorts usually fall into one of three categories: romantic, relaxing, or fun. Answering which of these types of resorts you want will go a long way in finding your perfect resort. Second, go to TripAdvisor.com and you can find information on every resort in Jamaica (or anywhere else in the world.) Read the resort amenities and that will tell you a lot and will help narrow your search down. Keep researching until you have found your resort. Also, keep looking through that site to learn about the area where you will go. Finding your resort might sound like a daunting task but it is really a fun one.

My first choice will always be Couples Negril. We honeymooned there for 10 days back in October 2005 and it was HEAVENLY!

Our awesome Garden Suite, the lush grounds, the gorgeous beach with calm crystal clear water, the amazing food, the artsy tropical decor, the wonderful staff, and of course the fantastic STRONG drinks all made it the trip of a lifetime.

In my opinion, Couples includes much more for your $$$ than Sandals (scuba, off-site excursions, etc.) Plus, Sandals sometimes costs more than Couples depending on the time of year, etc. Sandals kinda has a "cheesy commercial" quality to it that turns me off. Couples is sooooooooo not commercial. Yes, its an all-inclusive resort, but you feel like you truly get a sense of JAMAICA when you stay there. That being said, I would definitely leave the resort grounds, contact Sala and Sienna of Talk of the Town Tours, and head up into the mountains to Benji's Paradise!!

Also, even if you don't end up choosing Couples, I highly recommend staying in Negril vs Ocho Rios or Montego Bay. I've been to Jamaica four times and, to me, Negril just feels right - very mellow, stunning sunsets, not terribly far from the airport, gorgeous beaches, and not too crowded, etc. Ocho and MoBay are both loaded with tourists since Ocho is where all the cruise ships come in and MoBay is where the airport is.

Negril all the way mon :-)
